about me...What can I type here to give you a good idea about who I am? OK,
my name is Paul Oosten, born in 1960 in Woluwé St.Pièrre, Belgium. But my
nationality is Dutch, because my parents are Dutch and I haven't lived in
Belgium that long. I returned to the Netherlands when I was 18 years old.
Finished high school and first did my military service at the Royal Navy
(Marines & Special Services). After this, I went to university in Groningen
and Amsterdam and became a dentist. In my last year I 'specialized' in cosmetic
~ and veterinary dentistry. What a combination, right? Well, I chose some
extra hours in cosmetic dentistry for the challenge and the veterinary dentistry,
well...my first wish was to become a veterinarian. But I thought that I wouldn't
pass all these chemistry exams. Boy, as if dentistry didn't have hard chemistry
exams! Still, I must say that working on/with animals was my favorite practice.
But today in Holland, the demand for dental work on animals is not that high.
And not many veterinarians have the need for my services. Also, I don't have
the financial means to take more courses on this topic...
Now I live in Bergen op Zoom, in the province
of North Brabant in the Netherlands. Because of my illness,
I don't work actively as a dentist. I sold the clinic and started to teach
in Utrecht at the school for dental assistants. But because of Crohn's I
couldn't continue as such there.
These days I amuse myself with computers.
Helped a few people with their homepages, and now I 'webmaster' a few small
